We're a small team and we read every message. For the fastest help, tell us your device model, iOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened.

Subscriptions & billing

  • Managing or cancelling a subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple. Manage or cancel in Settings app → your name → Subscriptions (or App Store → your account → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.
  • Free trial. New installs include a 7-day free trial. If you cancel during the trial you won't be charged.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Restoring a purchase. On a new device, tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings.
  • Lifetime. A one-time Lifetime purchase removes the subscription requirement and includes future updates.

Your data & account

  • Delete your tasks. Settings → Delete all tasks (this is on your device and can't be undone).
  • Delete your account & server data. Settings → Delete account — revokes your access code and removes shared lists you own from our server.
  • Privacy. Your tasks live on your device. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what leaves your device and when.

Calendar sync

  • Which calendars? Two-way sync currently supports Google Calendar.
  • Connecting. Open a task's calendar options and connect your Google account; you authorize Checkmate to view and edit your calendar events.
  • Disconnecting. Calendar sync → Disconnect. This removes the stored connection and synced data from our server and asks Google to revoke access. You can also remove Checkmate in your Google Account's "Third-party apps & services" settings.
  • Adding a single event without connecting. You can still add a task to your device's own Calendar app without connecting an account.

Shared lists, reporting & blocking

  • Sharing. A shared list lets a small group (up to 7 people) see and edit the same tasks. Everything in a shared list is visible to everyone in it.
  • Reporting content. Open the shared task and choose Report.
  • Reporting or blocking a person. Open the group's member list and choose Report or Block. Manage blocked users in Settings → Blocked users.
  • Copyright. To report content that infringes your copyright, see our Copyright & DMCA Policy.

Reminders

Reminders are local notifications on your device. If they're delayed or missing, check that notifications are enabled for Checkmate in the iOS Settings app, and that Focus/Do-Not-Disturb isn't suppressing them.
